Williamsburg County Public School Foundation Student College Grant Overview

 

 

Annually, graduates of Williamsburg County Public Schools will be eligible to apply for a college grant to assist with higher education enrollment (books, other instructional resources, tuition assistance, etc.). Upon presentation of enrollment and attendance documentation to the secretary of the Williamsburg County Public School Foundation, the application will be reviewed for completeness with verification of enrollment by the Foundation’s College Grant Committee.

 

The amount awarded to each student will be dependent upon the available fund balance at the point of college grant distribution. The College Grant Committee will consider the following factors as awards are provided: class load and full time or part time enrollment. With adequate resources in place, students could qualify for a maximum college grant of $500.00.

 

This is a one-time only college grant and will be available for reception during the first school year immediately following graduation from the high school setting. The grant will be available to students entering a two or four year institution of higher learning.

 

Students enrolling in institutions of higher learning during the first semester must submit their application to the Foundation by September 30th. 45 days after close of application period, students will be notified of award status. Students enrolling, for the first time, in institutions of higher learning during the second semester, must submit their applications by January 31st. 45 days after close of application period, students will be notified of award status.
